Children and Family MinistriesMany opportunities abound at Immanuel for people to gather together, be empowered by the promises of God and to be sent out into the world as disciples of the living Christ. See below how people can grow in their walk of faith.
Sunday SchoolOur Sunday School ranges in age from the newly born to 6th grade. We meet September-May at 9 AM. Pre-Kindergarten-6th grade meets every Sunday. At Sunday School, children are immersed in the story of God through Bible Study, singing, snack time and fellowship. Special events occur frequently. This year we did the following special events: Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, went to the movies and watched The Chronicles of Narnia, Christmas Program, Shrove Sunday with pajamas and pancakes, pizza parties, and much more!
ConfirmationSeptember thru May our 7th and 8th graders enter a two year journey of Confirmation. We meet on Wednesday afternoons at Immanuel from 4-5:15 PM. During the two years of Confirmation, students study the Old and New Testaments, Luther’s Small Catechism and discuss other aspects of being a disciple of the living Christ. We participate in a weekly offering and service/work projects each year.
Senior HighOur Senior High youth meet once a month for “Lunch Bunch” where we share in a meal and conversation after worship. This past year our youth visited the UN-L Lutheran Student Center, took a day away from school to visit Midland Lutheran College, watched the SuperBowl and made sub sandwiches for the community, went Christmas Caroling and participated in the Ceresco Community Churches Harvest Scavenger Hunt. Our Senior High youth are an active group and invite any youth in 9th-12th grade to join in our activities.
Vacation Bible SchoolEach August, the Ceresco community churches come together to put on Vacation Bible School for the children and youth (Pre-Kindergarten thru junior high) of Ceresco and the surrounding community. This is a wonderful event hosted by Immanuel Lutheran Church, the United Methodist Church of Ceresco and the Evangelical Covenant Church of Ceresco. Camp at Carol Joy HollingWe strongly believe in the importance of camping ministry at Immanuel. Our congregation is committed to empowering every child in our midst to attend camp. Camp Carol Joy Holling is our camp of choice. It is located in Ashland, NE-- a 30 minute drive from the church’s front door. The camp’s website is www.nlom.org. WELCAOur Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America meet on the first Wednesday of every month at 7 PM. We engage in Bible study from the Lutheran Woman Today magazine. All women of our congregation are invited to attend.
Men’s Bible StudyThis group of men meets on the first Saturday of every month at 8 AM.
Adult Bible StudyThis group meets on Sunday morning at 9 AM.
